The Jasper Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization. Their mission is to advance the economic, industrial, professional, and civic welfare of its members and the Jasper community. After maintaining their old site for the past few years, it was time to redesign the site. A responsive website was on of their top priorities for the redesign.
Project Goal: A Responsive Website
The Chamber wanted to give the site a fresh new look while making it usable on today’s modern smartphones and tablets. A responsive website allows the website to adjust how it is displayed depending on the size of the screen it is being viewed on. Therefore, it is a perfect solution for today’s world, where nearly everyone has some sort of mobile device.
They had a graphic designer mock-up a look of the site that the board was happy with. Then, I took over and created a responsive website built on WordPress to match their mockup. Finally, I tweaked the responsive aspects of the website to ensure it looked great and performed well on mobile devices.
Most Challenging Aspect
As with most Chamber of Commerce websites, their old site had a directory of all the members. As a result, finding a way to migrate their directory, which was 400+ members strong, was the most challenging part of this site.
Words from the Client
Nancy Eckerle is the Director at the Jasper Chamber. She was my contact for the project and had this to say about her experience:
Josh was very accommodating to meet our needs at the Jasper Chamber. Because of the overall design changes – – he was patient with us as we took a lot of time to make reviews and edits along the way. His work is very detail-oriented and precise.
I would recommend Josh Houchin and IdeaFusion Media for website work.
